The Project Manager position is responsible for providing Project Management support to the Kaiser Permanente-dedicated Vizient Team. Project Managers are accountable for timely execution of sourcing initiatives for multiple medical and non-medical portfolios for Kaiser Permanente. The preferred candidate will have experience providing professional support to Director-level employees, as well as Customer Service.
The candidate must have strong interpersonal skills, utilize excellent judgment to make independent decisions, and be unflappable in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Additionally, the right candidate will demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills, be team-oriented with the ability to work independently, have excellent customer service skills as well as strong analytical, organizational and project management skills. Most importantly this person should possess a proactive instinct and positive attitude.
Works with the sourcing team to develop strategy and manage detailed project schedules for each initiative to determine time frame, procedures for accomplishing project, team requirements, and resource needs for various phases of project.
Reviews initiative work plans and modify schedules or plans as required to maintain KP contract coverage and achieve strategy.
Prepares meeting presentations, minutes, action items, distributes to teams and as requested for management, KP, or others.
Prepares and cultivates effective Face-to-Face (quarterly) and Conference Call (monthly) meeting management and participation for each team within the Sourcing Category.
Obtains and provides clear, concise and timely information to Operations on initiative scope, objectives, status, changes, issues/resolutions and achievements throughout the initiative life-cycle.
Coordinates final preparation for all of KP’s Monthly National Product Council (NPC) documentation with the Communications manager in advance of review calls.
Develops effective oral and written presentations; presents to Sourcing Team.
Facilitate evaluations with Client Product Implementation Management Teams. Establish timelines, contact suppliers, coordinate with Client teams.
Bachelor's degree, preferred.
3-5 years related experience.
PMP Certification (current)
Project management experience in the areas of healthcare, supply chain, purchasing, materials management or working for a large corporation.
Successful management of project timelines.
Strong attention to details, not easily overwhelmed.
Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within Project Management.
Above average knowledge of MS Office (including MS Project, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook) and WebEx
