We currently are seeking a Project Manager for our IT group.
The IT Project Manager coordinates work efforts for enterprise and sector-level technology services projects that support ASMEs strategic business goals. This individual will work closely with our internal business units. Extensive experience in managing such projects and leading similar teams is essential.
The IT Project Manager must be able to understand and clarify business processes and concepts reviewed by technical staff and translate details and recommendations into non-technical terms for business staff. The position functions as a liaison between business staff, IT Network, Desktop & Programming teams and outside vendors\consultants.
He/she will lead project teams over the lifecycle of the project. This individual will help define the project scope and vision; analyze project requests; record meeting minutes with business and other staff; and help clarify and document business requirements and time estimations. The IT Project Manager ensures that approaches and solutions link to ASME current objectives and stated future goals.
Ideal candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Computer Science and or equivalent work experience with a minimum of six years of technical project management experience dealing with Information Technology is required. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is highly desirable along with Agile Scrum certification.
Candidate must also be proficient in the use of desktop and server project management software and general project management principles as well as have experience working on digital/online service projects. While direct programming knowledge is not required this incumbent is expected to understand the software development lifecycle (SDLC) processes and functions as a liaison between business, technical staff and external vendors.
