As a key member on project teams, the Global Project Manager (GPM) in Pharma Research & Early Development is expected to actively contribute and challenge the definition and development of a project strategy and to help project teams to effectively and efficiently deliver on the strategic objectives agreed with the relevant governance body.
The GPM partners with the Project Team Leader to anticipate, identify, manage and communicate project risks and opportunities across the key functions. The role of GPM requires excellent interpersonal skills, including clear, succinct and timely communication and proven ability to foster important relationships with customers and key stakeholders.
Development, maintenance, pro-active tracking & management of a high quality, ambitious, integrated project plan from exploratory through to confirmatory development; closely and transparently managing the critical path of the project
Identifying, managing & communicating key project risks and leading risk management strategies in partnering with the Project Team Leader; facilitating discussion on project scenarios and options
Building effective team operation and positive team dynamic to succeed with milestone achievement
Maintaining, tracking, reporting and understanding variances in the integrated project budget by working in close collaboration with functional contributors and finance
Representing Project Management with stakeholders in all management positions
Guiding effectively a due diligence team through the formation of a comprehensive drug development plan and budget
We are looking for a professional with a scientific degree, advanced degree or equivalent experience (Science, MBA, PM), with excellent knowledge of the overall drug development process relevant to pharmaceutical/biotech organizations (minimum of 5 years’ experience preferred) and direct project management experience in support of cross functional project teams. You will bring:
Project Management certification (e.g. PMP) or equivalent experience
Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams in a matrix organization with non-co-located teams
Work experience on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors, including inter-organizational impact
Demonstrated ability to translate strategy into action
Strong influencing, negotiation, and presentation skills
Demonstrated good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions
