SUMMARY Leads and provides direction to cross functional teams in the execution of corporate prioritized projects, ensuring consistency with company strategy, culture, commitment and goals, by performing the following duties personally:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. This position requires solid project management skills in the leadership of multiple cross functional Operations project teams for the execution of strategic, low to medium risk new product development initiatives to achieve corporate growth objectives. Projects could also include new production capability, significant cost optimization and business process initiatives.
Act as the Sales, Marketing and Innovation liaison between Operations. Serve as the go-to person for Sales, Marketing and Innovation project initiation and Corporate prioritization.
In partnership with the Sales, Marketing or Innovation project leader, clarify overall project scope and timeline, and identify objectives and needed resources.
Regularly lead project team meetings to establish deliverables, validate and confirm acceptance, track team member progress and project status, convey a sense of urgency to meet aggressive timelines, challenge appropriately, hold team members accountable and provide recognition.
Provide direction and support to project teams. Gather and relay requirements to ensure the proper development and day-to-day operational activities are taking place to meet overall project objectives and timelines to commercialize.
Identify, mitigate, prioritize, manage and help drive resolution of project and team issues, conflicts, constraints, dependencies and risks in a time sensitive manner. Implement and/or manage changes to project scope, deliverables, timelines and resources to ensure project success.
Provide transparency to stakeholders with continuous communication through meeting minutes, project updates, status reports, presentations and participation in leadership meetings as requested. Escalate risks to management in a timely manner, and provide recommendations to resolve.
Establish and maintain essential project and product documentation and retention.
Conduct post project evaluations and assess results. Identify opportunities for continuous project management and execution improvements. Champion and implement changes to increase effectiveness of organization.
Manage and champion business processes, specifically Corporate Project Portfolio Management and new product/Stage Gate project documentation. Enforce the team utilization of standard operating procedures and other established business processes.
Maintain and leverage knowledge of internal operational capabilities and associated cost of goods sold, to assess and provide input on operational feasibility.
Actively participate on and provide thought leadership to business teams and project strategic teams as requested.
Upon request, review Sample/Cost Requests for development complexity and potential team requirements. Provide support and coordinate generation of cost estimate assumptions as needed. Adjust Sample/Cost Request direction accordingly.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES There are no direct supervisory responsibilities. Responsible for providing direction to project team members.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university required. Minimum of 3 years direct work experience in a cross functional project management leadership capacity required with knowledge of project management processes. Proven experience in people management. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification required, or ability to attain. Operations exposure preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS Strong communication skills are necessary for this position. Ability to communicate in a clear, objective manner in both verbal and written forms for a wide, diverse audience to understand. Ability to effectively and efficiently write meeting minutes and prepare presentations. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from all levels of the organization and external parties. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business documents.
INTERPERSONAL SKILLS Strong interpersonal skills are required with the ability to motivate, influence and confidently challenge individuals tactfully. Effective in building strong relationships across the organization at all levels with varying personalities. Ability to create and enhance a positive, productive team environment with a genuine customer service attitude is essential. Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills are required, with a medium to high level of stress tolerance.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES Strong organizational and planning skills are required, with the ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously. Must be team oriented, with the ability to work collaboratively and independently. Must enjoy challenges and be adaptable to changes in project scope and direction. Must have knowledge of COGS drivers.
REASONING ABILITY Mature critical thinking and analytical skills as evidenced by the ability to analyze project problems, identify project needs, formulate valid conclusions and recommendations, and objectively present to any audience.
COMPUTER SKILLS: Strong computer skills are necessary, including Microsoft Suite applications (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project) and Internet. Experience with document retention tools. Ability to become proficient in SAP.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
CERTICIATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Valid driver’s license required. Travel required between WI facilities. Minimal overnight travel required.
