Spectranetics, now a part of Philips Image Guided Therapy Devices, has an opening for a Program Manager, New Product Development.
What you will do: You will manage the execution of multiple projects within R&D, maintain budgets, and define cross-functional resourcing needs. You will serve as the leader across multiple cross-functional teams for critical NPD efforts and will need to have strong project management and leadership skills, demonstrated by the ability to influence and lead within a rapidly evolving, cross-functional, and highly regulated environment. You will ultimately be responsible for your team's performance and their adherence to company procedures, applicable regulations and standards to achieve the agreed upon objectives with business leaders and will lead project planning activities, drive tactical execution with daily focus, and track progress. What Success Looks Like:
Being the face and spokesperson for the project
Collaborating with cross-functional leaders to continually manage scope of elements within the project and the overall project
Leading selected external resources in the execution of a product development project (i.e. managing critical external relationships for testing, development, attaining components / subassemblies, etc.)
Developing and managing project plans including: schedules, resourcing, budgeting, and communication to Product Development Leadership and Business Leadership
Proactively evaluating the project for opportunities to improve performance
Continuous monitoring of project risk and mitigation as appropriate
Providing daily direction and guidance to team members in the execution of the project
Escalation of cross-functional support issues to the Product Development Leadership as appropriate
Being accountable for team's compliance with approved Project Charters
Ensuring team members adhere to internal procedures and regulatory requirements
Approving project expenses to a given amount level
Building key relationships with customers relating to their project(s)
Serving as expert to the project team on overall “Product Development Process” (including Design Controls)
Technical ability to understand and effectively orchestrate the work being accomplished on the project
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
Communication in a style that is timely, proactive, concise, candid, accurate, and clear
Crafts an environment in which all team members are respected regardless of their individual differences based on consistently demonstrated personal values
Providing guidance and coaching/mentoring to team members as appropriate
Champion for continuous improvement as demonstrated by their personal example

Material and Equipment Directly Used:

FDA regulations and international standards
Computers with applicable software packages (Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Power Point)
Minimum four year degree in Engineering or Science, advanced degree desired
Minimum of four years as a functional Core Team Member
Minimum of eight years experience managing projects, with credit for two years of experience given to applicants with a Master's Degree in Program Management
Demonstrated success leading complex projects, acting as the project leader for project teams which require significant cross-functional involvement
Experience developing fielded electro-mechanical medical device capital equipment highly recommended
Demonstrated ability to lead and influence cross-functional peers and leaders
Experience in a regulated industry required (medical device development experience preferred along with a solid working knowledge of FDA Quality System Regulations and ISO 13485
