The Project Portfolio Manager will manage multiple technology projects varying in size and complexity and is the conduit between the project team, business area stakeholders and the Director of IT. This involves coordinating team members, project information, and the work required to realize the goal of the project as well as the key components that are used for evaluating projects: business analysis; time; cost; business value; adoptability; and customer satisfaction.
Translating business plans and strategies into concrete programs for solution delivery, enhancement, and support;
Business analysis responsibility in developing business proposals aligned with project management conception and planning phases;
Developing and executing plans and strategies in close collaboration with business teams;
Ensuring alignment of information systems plans with business strategies;
Managing multiple medium to large-scale inter-disciplinary projects as defined and assigned by Senior IT management;
Implementing a project management methodology for managing projects;
Identifying, documenting and managing project tasks, work breakdown structures, dependencies, and timelines;
Providing prioritization guidance to teams to deliver on time and within budget;
Identifying risks and issues and driving them to resolution;
Providing effective status updates to stakeholders;
Ensuring effective management of assigned deliverables via use of detailed plans and proactive liaison with all affected parties ensuring that any delays, risks or issues are escalated for resolution in a timely and clearly understood manner;
Resolving political, resource, budgeting, schedule and change issues affecting the project;
Overseeing vendor relations on projects where the supplier is external to the organization;
Acting as project management mentor and tutor to career project managers; and
Performing other duties as assigned.

Bachelor’s degree and at least 8 years of business analysis experience coupled with management of complex technology projects in a fast-paced, political, highly matrixed environment required. Financial Services and Legal industry experience a plus;
Detail-oriented with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills;
Excellent influencing skills with technical and non-technical audiences;
Demonstrated mastery in planning and facilitating meetings;
Demonstrated mastery of presentation and written communication skills;
Ability to liaise with the business, analyze complex business problems and apply broad business knowledge and practical experience to the analysis/solution generation process;
Ability to work well with people from many different disciplines with varying degrees of project management expertise;
Ability to implement a selective and pragmatic approach of all PM knowledge areas;
Must be extremely results oriented with little input from others;
Excellent business judgment and a practical common-sense approach to getting things done;
Ability to understand, de-escalate, mediate and negotiate with individuals within a context of political sensitivity and conflicting interests, both internal, and external, to the organization;
Must be team-oriented and willing to place the needs of the team before the needs of the individual; and
Availability to work beyond specified scheduled hours, as needed.
