The Project Manager supports the coordination and completion of project related activities within the organization, with a primary focus in the areas of Operations, Guidance Documents, and Volunteer Management. The individual will work closely with internal staff and external stakeholders to plan and coordinate the development of ISPE projects, products, and events to enable efficient and cost-effective progress throughout the business cycle to consistently deliver high quality products to market in a timely fashion.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Manage the life-cycle of projects such as Guidance Documents, Continuing Education and Training events, (Affiliate Pilots, etc.) Marketing, Publications, Product Development, IT software purchases and implementations, RFP’s, and Administrative projects.
Ensure that all projects are planned, monitored, and delivered on-time, within budget and at the required level of quality.
Develop and enforce a schedule for completion that effectively allocates resources.
Oversee the progress of each project team through each stage of the process from proposal to final execution.
Monitor progress and adjust as necessary to ensure successful completion of project.
Communicate effectively regarding project objectives, resources, and gaps to ensure maximum collaboration/alignment throughout the organization.
Establish a communication schedule and provide updates on the status of each project to executive management and Board of Directors as requested.
Review the quality of the work completed with the project team on a regular basis to ensure that it meets the project standards.
Work with the staff and volunteers to manage ongoing organizational, product, business development, and committee efforts.
Education and work experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in a science related field of study preferred (Chemical, Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology, or Computer Science is a plus).
PMP Certification preferred (but may be substituted with significant PM work within the Pharmaceutical industry).
Related industry experience preferred.
Experience working in an association and/or managing volunteers is very desirable.
Minimum of 5 years of practical experience and documented success implementing, managing, and completing complex projects and initiatives in a matrix-based organization. International work experience and experience managing publications are a plus.
